The Colosseum

The Colosseum is the largest amphitheater ever built, and once held an estimated 50,000 to 80,000 spectators. It was here that gladiators battled tigers and bears and ancient Romans staged naval battles for mass entertainment. The Colosseum still stands through centuries of devastation, including earthquakes and stone-robbers, and receives more than four million visitors yearly. Eager travelers can skip the line with the ROMA pass, but it’s important to reserve a slot ahead of time!

The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill

Once the center of day-to-day life in Rome, the Forum has been called the most celebrated meeting place in the world. Visitors can walk the historic grounds, and explore the many statues and monuments commemorating notable figures of the city. Standing just 130 feet away from the Roman Forum is Palatine Hill, the center of the Seven Hills of Rome. According to Roman mythology, Hercules defeated Cacus on Palatine Hill, after the fire-breathing giant had stolen cattle from local farmers. Hercules struck Cacus with such force that his fall formed a cleft on the southeast corner of the hill. Tourists can visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill with the ROMA pass!

Borghese Gallery

There are over 50 museums in Rome, and visitors can gain access to the majority of them with the ROMA pass. If you only have time for one, however, consider visiting the Borghese Gallery! The twenty-room Gallery houses a substantial part of the Borghese collection of paintings, sculpture, and antiquities. Art lovers can admire vast mosaics of ancient gladiators, magnificent ceiling frescos, and classical and neo-classic sculptures. Avoid wait times by reserving a ticket or guided tour before your visit!
