To help you with your travel plans or to inspire you to visit Vietnam yourself, we at AESU have compiled a guide!
Every part of Vietnam is different, but one thing remains the same no matter where you are – the people are welcoming, peaceful, polite, and respectful. If you have ever visited the hustle and bustle of Bali or Bangkok, you’ll notice a very different feeling when you experience Vietnam. There is still the roar of scooters and smells of delicious food, but the sounds of the locals singing to you are missing. To help you with your travel plans or to inspire you to visit Vietnam yourself, we at AESU have compiled a guide. We have our Secrets of Indochina tour this year, which visits Vietnam, so consider booking a spot today. Read on to learn more!
Hanoi, Vietnam
Hanoi is a very beautiful, intricate maze of streets that all trickle into tiny layers and alleyways. Women set up their kitchens in doorways, selling food while talking and laughing with others. Men here congregate at local coffee shops or watch each other work at their roadside shops or stalls. It is a social way of living where everything is played out on the streets, and everything is shared. Hanoi is worth visiting because the buildings, the food, and the people are beautiful. Two to three days is a solid amount of time to stay here.
Hoi An, Vietnam
Hoi An is a real playground for photography lovers, so pack your best camera equipment and go explore. You could hire a bicycle or scooter and explore this town, wander through the wet markets, or on a boat. Enjoy a cooking class here, meander through the night market, float some lanterns down the river, and of course, get custom made clothes. It is an elegant fairytale straight out of your dreams. We recommend spending around three to four days here.
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh is a nice city with a pulse, it is constantly moving and buzzing. Its noise, life, history, and community all combine to create a place of soul and movement. It has that “big city” feeling to it, but the locals all have the same friendly, welcoming nature as the smaller towns. It’s worth visiting because it is busy, noisy, and rich in history, with a mix of old and new that will blow your mind. Two days is a great amount of time to spend here.
